Big Bend Filipino-American Association
Kaisahan - Bayanihan - Damayan
Since 1981
The Big Bend Filipino-American Association,Inc. is based in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. The only organized Filipino ethnic group in the Big Bend area, it was established in 1981 and became a not-for-profit corporation in July 21, 1992. The organization actively supports charitable, educational, and humanitarian causes within and outside the community and the Philippines. In 2005, BBFAA was primary in establishing the Asian Coalition of Tallahassee (ACT) which is now the largest multi-racial multi-ethnic group in the City. The BBFAA membership is open to all who share common interests with us. We welcome individuals who are interested in the Philippines and the Filipino culture. Being part of the bigger community, we believe that diversity is crucial to a strong society. We strive to uplift the status of ethnic minorities through education and promoting awareness of the underrepresented groups. In 2008, we officially adopted the motto: Kaisahan, Bayanihan, Damayan (Unity, Cooperation, Involvement) succinctly describing what we do.
