The BBFAA negotiates with the host institution rules regarding the administration of the scholarship and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is signed. The host institution accepts application to the scholarship and pre-rank the applicants  according to academic standing and need. The BBFAA Scholarship Committee decides on the final recipients.

Benefits

BBFAA scholarships are four-year scholarships. Full tuition benefits are guaranteed until completion of degree subject to the maintenance conditions below. Additional benefits maybe available depending on the MOA. Upperclassmen receive benefits for the rest of the unfinished terms.



Scholarship obligation

Each scholar is required to submit a narrative report and a certified copy of grades for every semester the benefits are enjoyed. Maintaining contact with the BBFAA after graduation is encouraged.




Eligibility

Applicants to BBFAA Scholarship must be full time undergraduate students in a publicly funded colleges and universities in the Philippines.
Preferences are given to students majoring in Education, Agriculture, Science, Engineering, and Social Work.  The scholarship is awarded to students who can demonstrate financial needs (Family income not to exceed P200,000 (US$3500) a year). 



Maintenance Conditions

To maintain eligibility, recipients must satisfy the following maintenance conditions: a GPA (grade point average) of 2.25 (scale: 1.0 highest, 85% equivalent)  or better and took full load of at least 18 units per semester with no ‘dropped’ courses, and no grade of ‘inc’, ‘4 or 5’.  The recipients must also not be under any disciplinary action, participate in fraternity hazing or any on and off campus violent or criminal incidents. 



Julita Castro Awkard Memorial Scholarship

The Julita Castro Awkard Memorial Scholarship is the first named scholarship sponsored by the BBFAA Scholarship Fund in memory of its staunched supporter and matriarch Dr. Julita Castro Awkard. Dr. Awkard was one of the original founders of the association and served as a Vice-President and a Secretary-Treasurer in its fledgling years. The JCAMS scholarship is awarded to individuals who exemplifies Dr. Awkard qualities. While living during the civil rights era, Dr. Awkard exhibited the strength of character which helped her endure the social injustice of the times to become a very successful educator and a prominent citizen of Tallahassee.
